Harry Potter season is upon us once again and it’s time to accessorize. If you’re like me, you might be looking to do it on the cheap. Want to learn how to make a Harry Potter wand for under $1? I thought so…
The best part of this project is that you probably already have most of the items around your house!
Hot glue/Glue gun
I purchased my dowel from Home Depot for about $1. I brought it home and cut into three smaller sections – the wands. I am going to suggest keeping the wands somewhere between 8 – 12 inches.
I actually cut my dowels all different lengths to add variety. Once they were cut, I hit them very briefly with my little hand sander to get rid of any slivers and to round off the ends.
The boys are actually a bit to young for the current Harry Potter films, but they enjoyed the pre-show party. We’ve found that though the movies are a bit to advanced, the books are just right.
Have you read the Harry Potter books/watched the shows with your kids?
