I went to a party at Martha’s place…

Yes, as in THE MARTHA, Martha Stewart

Martha Stewart Blogger's Night Out

To say that I was thrilled to get a copy of this invitation in my inbox is a bit of an understatement. Really. I nearly cried.

And the event? EVERY BIT AS WONDERFUL AS I COULD HAVE IMAGINED!!! In fact, it was fabulous.

Our evening started out with a little tour of the Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Offices. Unfortunately we were unable to take photos while on the tour, but folks, I want to confirm the glitter/craft/punch room? It exists. Sheer heaven…

Every where we walked, walls were covered up with brown butcher paper like this:

Martha Stewart Inspiration Boards

(Okay, so I sneaked one photo, but it’s just of the paper covered food inspiration boards and I did ask…)

And, yes, I was dying to know what was behind the paper, but it was early on in the evening and a sneak peak wasn’t worth the risk!

All right, the truth is I was able to sneak a peak and take a photo in the test kitchens as well (thank you M.S. food employee who decided to indulge my curiosity later in the evening). Martha Stewart Baking Inspiration BlogHer

As a lover of beautiful books and magazines, I was excited to see that the staff has access to a whole library of printed material for research and inspiration.

Everything at the party was drawn straight from the most current issues of Martha’s magazines.

First, we were treated to the “wedding aisle,” which featured items from the current edition of Martha Stewart Weddings.

As if the wonderful displays and delicious food were not enough, the wonderful staff had arranged for several special guests to greet us…

Darci Miller, Editor of Martha Stewart Weddings, was there acting as gracious hostess.

Amanda Lucier, from Neither Snow, was on hand to provide her calligraphy services. You can check out her work here or in the current edition of Martha Stewart Weddings. Gorgeousness!

And, salon experts were on hand applying temporary eyelash extensions. Check it out:

I wish I had more photos of the amazing food – mini everything from sliders and spring rolls to empanadas and fruit. Yummy!

And the drinks? Yes they were lovely too…

The main party was held in the photo studios…the most wonderful thing about the room? The windows…incredible light and equally incredible views.

One of my  favorite displays in the room had to be the Oreo cake – so impressive and the kids would have loved it!

I am now determined to make an Oreo cake for a future event…

I met loads of wonderful people…

Kevin Sharkey at Martha Stewart BlogHer

This is Kevin Sharkey and I…that’s him on the cover of the magazine I am holding. It is also the last photo before my camera died!

Yes, my camera died! I couldn’t believe it!  I was terribly upset. Luckily, the ever organized Martha Stewart staff had photographers on hand. You can see some of their photos here.

Extra luckily, the folks at the Nikon booth were able to fix it the next day…

Martha did attend the party, as did her daughter Alexis Stewart, but was unable to stay long. It was cool just to see her in person.

This was an AMAZING experience – definitely a highlight for 2010!
